First teased in early November 2020, the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG “Pollen” has recently surfaced in unofficial, in-hand images ahead of a reported August 21st release date. An initial mock-up of the sneaker suggested the forthcoming pair featured glossy – either satin or patent leather – yellow overlays atop a “Black” leather base. New photos, however, reveal an upper built entirely of leather, with the “Pollen” panels indulging in a smooth composition. Reminiscent of the Nike Dunk High “Wu Tang” from 1999, the fall-ready retro sports the titular tone across most of the upper; the toe box, mid-foot underlay, tongue and collar padding deliver stark dark contrast. “NIKE AIR” branding on the tongue also partake in the Jordan 1‘s bee-like color scheme. Underfoot, sole units opt into a “White” midsole, while the 36-year old, Peter Moore-designed tread boasts an all-“Pollen” arrangement that ties the shoes together well.
